You’ve got questions. We’ve got answers. In fact, we just received an award for the longest FAQs page on planet Orange and two other planets.
FAQs
Do you have quarterly payment options?
We don’t offer an installment plan for paying the curriculum license fee. Full payment is due at the time the license is purchased.
close
When can I have access to the materials once I’ve purchased my license?
Pretty much immediately. During the sign up process, you will be able to choose the license start date. All materials are available two months in advance, and immediate access is granted to the materials. For example, if you wish your license to start with September’s curriculum, you will begin to have access to the September download page during the first week of July. Which is pretty sweet for obvious reasons.

Do I have to purchase a license for 252 Basics and/or XP3 Students separately from First Look?
Yes. All three curriculums have separate licensing agreements. Please visit www.whatisorange.org for all the information you can handle on curriculum for children and students.
close
Why don't First Look, 252 Basics and XP3 Students have the same focus each month?
The First Look, 252 Basics and XP3 Students curriculums are aligned in strategy but differ in content. At Orange, we feel that when all age groups discuss the same subject, relevance is compromised. There are issues that each age group faces in specific ways, and when there is a blanket topic, usually one (or more) groups is forced to fit with the subject matter.

Can I purchase individual months of curriculum?
No. Licenses are only sold in 12-month periods. We sell them in 12-month blocks because there’s no way you could use them for only one month. Are you kidding? You’ll be hooked in one week! Geesh. Just looking out for you.

Do you accept checks?
What’s a check? We have no idea what those are. Our computers only accept digital payment online during the sign up process. We are slowly turning into robots. We accept major credit cards and e-checks. E-checks are an electronic draft from a checking account. By using the e-check feature, you will enter the routing number, checking account number and bank name online. Oh, a check! As in, take the “e” off of e-check. No, we don’t accept those. With our luck Reggie would make a paper airplane out of it.

Can you invoice me for the curriculum renewal?
Afraid not. We at Orange pride ourselves on not being bankers. We let the computers take care of all of it. For more info on payment see the "Do you accept checks?" question above.
close
Can I get a receipt for the curriculum license I purchased?
Sure. Our registration system will email a receipt for the license to the e-mail address indicated at the time of sign up. Please check any junk mail or SPAM folders. Receipts can also be found online by logging in, clicking the admin tab, then clicking account history, then billing history. You will then be able to select the receipt and print it. If it sounds like a robot wrote the last three sentences, that because it did. His name is Ronny the Robot.

What is the refund policy if I decide to cancel?
Ok, this is tricky so please read slowly. The curriculum retails at $200 per month. When a church purchases a year license, the price is discounted significantly from that $200 per month price.
So, when an account is cancelled, the discount is lost and the cost of the curriculum reverts to the retail price of $200 per month of any downloaded materials.
There is also a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations are accepted within 60 days of account sign up or renewal with the following fees imposed:
1) $50.00 cancellation fee
2) $200.00 for each month's curriculum previously downloaded. Only one cancellation per curriculum license is allowed per organization.
THE TOTAL REFUND DUE WILL EQUAL THE ORIGINAL LICENSE FEE PAYMENT, LESS THE $50 CANCELLATION FEE AND ANY APPLICABLE DOWNLOAD CHARGES.

What kind of training opportunities do you have?
Orange offers training through The Orange Tour and The Orange Conference. Go ahead, click the links to find out more about these great training opportunities.

Can I choose 12 virtues from the schedule?
Typically, we love random. But here, not so much. The monthly virtues follow along a three-year schedule. At any given time the current month, previous month and the next two months are available for viewing. Because of this schedule, and because the material is written fresh for each month, we are unable to offer the functionality of selecting virtues in a random order. Sorry!
close
Can I buy three years worth of materials and then just reuse what I have?
The license agreement enables an organization to use the curriculum during a specified consecutive 12-month period. The license doesn't provide possession of the materials for reuse outside of a current license agreement. While the virtue schedule repeats every three years, the curriculum is written fresh to provide relevant lessons.

How does the Get Reel DVD and Studio 252 Presents fit with the curriculum?
These DVDs are designed as add-on media segments. Each segment is 1.5 - 4 minutes long. They are designed for use during the Family Productions or the large group portion of the curriculum.
Each Get Reel DVD includes Media Time videos for the virtues within one quarter of the curriculum. The videos include one each of: Dear God, Virtoons, Wonder and Go Wild! for each virtue, for a total of 12 videos (four per each month in the quarter). Each segment is a short video that focuses on the virtue, it's definition, or application and is meant to be used as a purposeful transitional piece during large group or as a family experience segment.
Studio 252 Presents is a fully dramatized, 12-18 minute, presentation of the weekly Bible lesson. There is an optional intro and outro segment featuring a character Host that intros the Bible lesson and transition kids to small group afterwards. Studio 252 Presents can be used when a live storyteller isn't available, for an additional service or during the summer! Whew. Hope that covers it!

Why are some of the letters missing when I print?
Probably because we forgot to add them. OR You could try this: when using Adobe Reader and printing grayscale, please be sure to set the Advanced Option for "Set Font and Reserve Policy" to "Send At Start."
close
When I print the materials, it prints black boxes.
That's crazy. When Reggie prints them, the boxes are blue and orange. When printing, be sure to open the PDF documents with Adobe Acrobat Reader, and then proceed to print. Printing the PDFs from the preview pane and not Adobe Acrobat Reader will sometimes create black boxes on the printed page.

I've entered my curriculum username and password, and I still can't log into the store.
Usernames and passwords from the curriculum sites don't automatically work on each other, or subsidiary sites. All web sites and accounts for Orange are separate and therefore require separate account setup. For the Orange Store, a profile will need to be setup before placing an order.
close
What is the password for the PDFs so I can edit them?
All PDFs within the curriculum are copyright protected as a whole, due to the use of graphics, layout and design. That means all the PDFs are password-protected. If you would like to edit the material, you can do so by using the Word documents provided.

How do I make an audio CD?
You will need to have a CD writer and appropriate software. Most CD writers come with software included. An example of software which will create an audio CD is iTunes.
close
Can I make CDs of the music for all of my parents?
This can be a touchy subject for sure. All music we provide is copyrighted. Our writers and performers depend on royalties earned through purchased music. To request permission to create CDs from the music, please contact us.
close
Why do the PDFs not view or print correctly?
If you are experiencing problems with your PDFs displaying only a white page, or you are receiving an error that the viewer cannot decrypt the document, please update your Adobe Reader to the latest version. You will find the most recent installers at www.adobe.com.

How do I retrieve past curriculum?
Once the curriculum is pulled off of the web site, it is archived in a database. Curriculum cannot be retrieved outside of a license's terms. There is also a $25 charge per month retrieval fee. (The information regarding retrieval fees can be found in the license agreement: "In the event that you require materials that are no longer available on the website, retrieval is available for a fee of up to $25.00 for a complete month retrieved.")
Also, since the original license purchase grants use of the curriculum, rather than possession of the curriculum, the months being retrieved are only valid to be used during a current license period.
To retrieve past curriculum from a former license to be used within an active license, please contact us.

Are there lyrics available for virtue songs?
We were hoping you could just memorize without the lyrics. But if that is proving too hard then you can find lyrics are available for each of our virtue CDs. Standard CDs include a booklet in the CD case with printed lyrics. Track CDs include PDF files of the lyrics. Lyrics for the primary virtue song each month is included on the 252 Basics web site in Microsoft Word format.
close
Are chord charts available?
Of course. We have an intern who keeps all our chord charts taped to the walls. He's constantly rearranging them and jamming out to the songs. Sometimes he blends them together, which is odd sounding. But if you'd rather not call our intern and ask him to find a chart for you, then visit www.amberskyrecords.org for all your chord chart needs.

Where can I find suggested music?
Full mix songs, performance tracks, and music videos with lyrics and/or dance moves can be purchased and downloaded as singles at www.amberskyrecords.org. Full CD's can be found at www.therethinkstore.org.

Can I purchase individual months of curriculum?
Licenses are only sold in 12-month periods. However, a selection of curriculum bundles is available at www.therethinkstore.org. A bundle is a great way to try out the curriculum for one month. The bundle includes the 252 Basics curriculum for the entire month, along with five Virtue Packs of the corresponding virtue, plus a Get Reel that includes two- to four-minute video clips. It's a bundle of joy. OK, that was lame, but it's an FAQ. What do you expect?
close
Can I post materials on the church web site?
Curriculum documents cannot be posted on church web sites with the exception of GodTime Cards (252 Basics) and Refrigerator Door cards (252 Basics). Sorry, it's when it comes to web content, certain rules need followed. If you need to make materials available to your team, utilize the secondary users feature to add access for volunteers and staff.
close
Why do the GodTime cards not print correctly?
If they are printing slightly left justified, then make sure that they are not set to "fit to page" in your page setup and/or print settings. And remember, printers are dumb. If all else fails, proceed to pick up printer and launch it into outer space.

How do I change the primary user?
To change the primary user information, the current primary user can log in and modify the account with updated information. Should the primary user leave, a secondary user, or new ministry leader can change the primary user info by contacting us. Our lawyer wrote this answer. Can you tell?
close
What is a secondary user?
A secondary user can be a volunteer, staff member or teacher that needs access to the materials for downloading and distributing. A secondary user is not able to make any changes to the account. Why? Because he or she is secondary! Sorry for yelling (smiley face).
close
How do I add secondary users to my account?
To add a secondary user, the primary user or coach must first log in. On their Curriculum Administration and User Management page (the page seen directly after log in), there will be the option to add secondary users.
If you want to add more secondary users than the number you received with your initial license agreement, they are available at a charge of $20 per 10 users per year. To request more users contact us.

Why can I not download? Or, I receive an error when I download.
PC Users:
If you are on a PC, first of all that is just too bad (just kidding, hope the IT guys don't read the FAQ). You probably have a temporary file hanging around from a previous failed download. You should go to Start menu > Settings > Control Panels > Internet Options. From the General tab, click on the button in the Temporary Internet Files panel. Click on the Delete Files button to remove any failed download or partial download of that file.
Also, Click on the 'Settings' button in this same panel and make sure that your browser is set to 'Check for newer version of stored pages' at 'every visit to the page.' Apply the changes and close the 'Internet Options' window.
Mac Users:
If you are on a Mac, congratulations (simmer down, just kidding)! You can accomplish the same thing by going to 'Preferences > Advanced > Empty Now' under 'Cache Settings.'

How do you define wonder, discovery and passion in your topics?
At its core, wonder, discovery and passion are really just another way of phrasing what Jesus said was the greatest commandment, the summary of all the other commandments: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’” (Matthew 22:37-39 NIV). The three experiences of wonder, discovery and passion can be defined by certain core truths that we believe are “the end in mind,” the end goal of what we want a student to believe when he or she moves into adulthood.
WONDER
I am created to pursue an authentic relationship wtih my Creator.
DISCOVERY
I belong to Jesus Christ and define who I am by what He says.
PASSION
I exist every day to demonstrate God've love to a broken world.

How is the worship set in the Amber Sky Subscription different than the worship set in the 252 Curriculum?
The worship set in the Amber Sky Subscription is a more detailed worship set. It has sound cues, scripts for what leaders should say, and different options for songs each week. The worship set on Amber Sky suggests our new and updated virtue and Bible story songs as well. Also, with the devotions that are provided for each week the resources Amber Sky provides will better equip your worship leader and team. The Amber Sky subscription is great for the worship leader who wants to take worship time to the next level.
