We handpick highly qualified and trained men and women who have served in ministry settings and know how to communicate the Orange Strategy. They are people from all over who have been involved in the Orange network and trained to be a coach. Our coaches go through a rigorous application process and phone interview, making sure they'll be a good fit for you and your church.
What’s the difference between the issues addressed in the Orange Leaders Handbook and the specific troubleshooting problems you’ll be addressing when you coach on-site?
The Orange Leaders Handbook helps you customize the principles from Think Orange for your ministry. You’ll be able to pinpoint areas you need to improve upon within your ministry. The difference between the two is that with Church Coaching, you’ll have a certified professional, who will have a better understanding of your specific issues, actually sit down with your staff and lay out steps to help you improve, which may include customizing the implementation of the handbook’s suggestions. Our Church Coaching gives you a more contextual and specific approach to be able to help you progress quicker.
How do you define “personal” coaching if you’re only communicating over the phone? How personal is it, really?
That’s a great question, because we thought the same thing, until we found research that proves that there is no added benefit in mentoring or coaching someone face to face. However, we did want our coaching to be as personal as possible, without requiring an unrealistic amount of time for you and our coaches, so we designed our program to have some sort of weekly communication – making it “personal.”
What happens after I fill out and submit the full application?
Once we receive your application, then someone from our coaching network will contact you either by phone or email and schedule a phone consultation to help answer any other questions you may have. Then we’ll partner you with one of our coaches and they’ll contact you to start the coaching process. We’ll communicate any details along the way.
What do I do if my coach and I aren’t connecting?
Our first and primary concern is to make sure you’re getting the help you need and want. So, whether you’re being personally coached or communicating with a church coach, if after a month of conversations something just doesn’t feel right, then contact us. We want to empower you to contact the Orange Coaching Network at [email protected] and we’ll play the role of the middle man and take it from there. You won’t have to worry about awkward conversations. We’ll make the situation right and get you the help you need.
If our church pays for the Church Coaching, can we invite other churches to attend, and possibly pay us, to be trained?
Unfortunately, we have to discourage that. We’ve seen in past circumstances that this never works out for the benefit of the church that is paying for the coach to attend. Also, in order for our coaching to be as specific and strategic as possible, our primary concern has to be to the church that is responsible for bringing that coach on-site. We’re just not able to be as effective and impacting if we’re communicating to different churches and ministries. Part of the value of Church Coaching is getting someone to come to you and help you and your staff with your specific issues, questions and concerns. The more people you add to the mix, the more diluted the content has to be in order to accommodate everyone.
Can we record the Orange Coaching presentation for others to view?
Due to intellectual property and copyright laws, we’re unable to allow churches to record our presentations. Part of what makes a presentation engaging is the atmosphere and energy within the room. When training is recorded, it removes the urgency from the moment, not encouraging as many people to attend, because they can watch the video later.
How does the payment process work?
Great question. Once we collect the full application, then we’ll ask for your billing information. You can send that to us however you like. All your information goes to our bookkeeper where they keep your info safe and secure. As far as the actual pricing goes, we’ll cover that in our initial phone consultation.
What if we want to request a coach for a specific date?
We know that many of you have specific dates in mind when requesting an Orange Coach. We really want to accommodate you, however, the only way to make sure you get the dates you want, is to fully submit your application and initial payment. Only after we receive your information is when we’ll put you in contact with your coach. Then you can request whatever dates your heart desires.
